RICK'S BIG TRIP page 26

For you artists out there, this photo is a little exploration of negative space. Notice how the tree, the crooked arm of the model and the rusty sculpture behind capture forms by enclosing open areas. That's your lesson for today. Class dismissed.

Sweeping back along the Lowlands Southside, I paid another visit to Ellen (sister of Anneke) and Jeroen, and of course their charming boys. Here is the youngest, Arthur, playing with the new kitten.
And the oldest, Steijn, contemplating the kitten in the light of the afternoon.
Soon, "Uncle Rick" was busy with the obligatory children's board game. Of course, that would be the game of Pokemon. It's one of those annoying race games someone at Pokemon International threw together with a hodgepodge rules of which children all over the world now know by heart. Very tedious. Of course, I lost miserably.
The youngest, Arthur proves to be quite the natural photographer. This piece is Portrait of the Visitor, Drinking.
It's final sweep time in Holland. That's right -- one more day in Amsterdam with Uwe (you English speakers can call him "Huey"). Big plates of damn good chinese food.
Next day -- Rotterdam. My guide and host, Jan. Chinese food again, chased down with a strong cup of Jo.
Last chance for baby pictures! Smile Tjomme! Uncle Rick is passing through!
