Remember Corinne from the last page? This is the beautiful canal she lives on in Utrecht. The Utrecht canals are the best in all of Holland, with their walkways down below street level. This summer, '99, there was an all-city art show, and this sketch is one of the entries: a two-storey high photo of a man standing naked in a field. And that's what we saw, the whole summer, right in the center of Utrecht.
Anneke's aunt, Tante Jeanne, took us on a biking tour, east of Utrecht, around De Bilt...and I insisted that we stop and play miniature golf -- I used to love that game when I was a kid! There's Auntie Jeanne, puttin' away at one of the more difficult holes.
Below is the winning score card, mine, with a triumphant total of 49 strokes. Another victorious chapter in the annals of my European conquest.
